| A hug for
you, new friends, and especially those long standing.
Light years, and a Millennium, have passed since
last we communicated. I used to make music with the bands Cut To The Chase,
and The Balance. And then my wife of a decade ago kidnapped my children
and disappeared. I have spent the time since then searching for them.
It didn’t help that my former wife had a law degree. It didn’t
help that my former wife was the business manager for our production company
and record label.
That was in 1993. And over the years the label,
the production company, the various bands, melded with the Absolute...
Now, I am back. Playing hard, playing true, despite
having to sell off the tools of my trade along the way, time and again,
in the search for my children: Max Daniel and Sarah Angela (Sam) and Mara
Abra. I never gave up. And I never stopped playing. I never will.
Now. I want to offer up some of the music I’ve
been making.
The material on this CD is taken from jams, rehearsals, demos, and live
gigs. It dates from my first year of playing out, to the present.
I have tried to include many of the unsung, but fantastic, musicians I’ve
been fortunate enough to meet along the way. They deserve to be heard
by you, and you deserve to hear them.
It is my hope that you’ll really enjoy this
release. I have attempted to put together the record that I look for every
time I step into a record store--- something truly funky, truly thrilling.
You won’t find any complete songs on this record. (I’ve got
more for you down the road... a more traditional instrumental record,
and an album or two with vocals.) On this record, however, I have done
my best to “cut to the chase”. I have tried to put together
the best grooves, solos, and breakdowns from my years of tapping into
the flow of The Bass Underground. It was my desire to put together a record
that would make your hair stand on end. You’ll have to let me know
if I succeeded.
I now offer this recording to you, my brothers
and sisters, in All Things Bass. |
